The Cars We Wish We Had

As everyone knows, the US receives almost every car put into production. But there are a few of them that we really, really want and just cant have. Even though it would make an extremely large number of people happy if the US would import these vehicles, it's simply not going to happen. Well anytime soon at least.

Why can't we have them? In most cases, it's due to economics or emissions specs., but in some cases, it can be just down right selfishness. For instance, if a very affordable high performance production car was available to the US market, there would be tons of people driving in a disorderly manner causing a dangerous environment for other motorists.

One of the most sought after cars that hasn't hit the US soil is no other than the Nissan Skyline. Nicknamed "Godzilla", the Skyline (now a bit older) is a very affordable and produces an exceptional amount of power as well as handles like it's on rails. For years, the Skyline has been Nissan's top performance vehicle and many people agree that the Skyline is considered a JDM legend. As of late, you are able to import some models of the Skyline into the US as long as it meets the emissions and safety specs. of the state being imported to.

Next up is the Volkswagen Sirocco. Why can't we have this car? Your guess is as good as ours. We're just going to assume that it's just not ideal. You see, this car here is identical to the VW Golf and Golf R. Only difference is that the Sirocco looks more sleek and a bit cooler than the Golf. So introducing a new car to the US that everyone here already loves just doesn't make sense. Sad day today.

The Mercedes Unimog. This is most military like vehicle as you can get and drive without it actually being a military vehicle. This is the biggest baddest truck that ever hit the streets... and the dirt. It's all wheel drive, clean diesel motor and outstanding towing capacities make this monster a gem among many in the US. There are cases where some people import the Mercedes Unimog to the states, but it's usually for motorsports purposes.

The new Honda Civic Type R has gotten the Honda fans in the US all types of bothered. When the specs were first released, the whole scene was shocked. This new hot hatch was assumed to be the worlds best FWD hatch back, performance wise that is. Although the US never really received any Type R models besides the Integra Type R, there was hope for this new Civic. But, nope!

And we can't forget about the HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) GTS Maloo. A lot of people in the states haven't heard of this car, and that's probably because it's specific to Australia's roads. This supercharged 6.2 liter V8 Ute puts down 577 horsepower that would give most sports cars a run for their money. It's big brakes and sport tuned suspension make this thing like nothing the US have ever seen.

There are a lot more vehicles out there that the US will probably never see, and it puts a pain in our chest. We can always dream right? Someone please create a petition or something to bring these vehicles to the US and we'll sign it!
