A prototype for the new Acura NSX caught fire while making it's rounds on the Nurburgring in Germany recently. Acura will not release information with us for the cause of the fire but, they claim that the NSX is still under development so there should be nothing to worry about. Acura also states that they make safety one of their top priorities and that luckily no one got hurt because of the fire.
According to a photographer that was there during the incident, the NSX prototype was destroyed and the whole track had to be shut down for over an hour while a special crew came to clean and investigate.
The highly anticipated sports car still has a mystery release date. But what we do know is that it will be housing a twin turbo V6 and be using Acura's Sport Hybrid AWD technology. This is an advanced high-performance system that integrates three electric motors. One of the motors is paired with the V6 while the other two will power the front wheels while an all new dual-clutch transmission will power the rear wheels.
